Dr Gian Guido Nobili is currently Head of the Urban Security and Crime Prevention Department of the Emilia-Romagna Region (Italy). Gian
Guido oversees research programs, projects, and data systems concerning crime, victimization, juvenile delinquency, organized crime, immigration, urban security and crime prevention.
Since 2013, Gian Guido is the national coordinator of the Italian Forum for Urban Security.
Since 2006, he is a member of the European Society of Criminology (ESC) and a founding member of the European Governance of Public Safety Network.
His main areas of interest include crime prevention, evaluation of crime reduction programmes, policing, organized crime, football hooliganism and research on new crime prevention strategies, in particular on CCTV.

Dr Peter Neyroud is a Lecturer in Evidence-based Policing at the Institute of Criminology and Deputy Director of the Police Executive Programme. He has been a Resident Scholar at the Jerry Lee Centre for Experimental Criminology managing a major research programme,Operation Turning Point; a randomised controlled trial testing offender desistance policing. He has taught senior police leaders and advised governments across the world and in the UK on criminal justice reform. His research interests centre on field experiments in policing, pre-court diversion, crime harm and the implementation and leadership of change in criminal justice agencies.
Peter served for 30 years as a police officer in Hampshire, West Mercia and as Chief Constable of Thames Valley. He set up and ran the National Policing Improvement Agency as CEO. In 2010, he carried out the "Review of Police Leadership and Training" which led to the establishment of the new "National College of Policing", in 2012. He has been an independent reviewer of the Parole Board, a member of the Sentencing Guidelines Council and on both the National Policing and National Criminal Justice Boards. He was awarded the Queens Police Medal in 2004 and a CBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours List in 2011.

Professor Alexander Siedschlag is currently Chair of Penn State Homeland Security Programs, The Pennsylvania State University. He was previously professor for security research and director of CEUSS. He is a political scientist, sociologist and psychologist by training and has 7 years experience as work package leader and coordinator in FP7 security projects as well as in national security research and strategic studies projects. He has served as evaluator in the Security and SSH themes of FP7, as well as a member of the jury in the Austrian national security research programme KIRAS. He was also a member of ESRIF working groups and among the main contributors to the ESRIF final report. He has so far authored six monographs, over 100 articles, and edited twelve anthologies.
Alexander has a long standing strong record in extramural lecturing, including the former European Security and Defence Assembly, the National Defence Academy Vienna, and NATO School.

Dr Umberto Nicolini is a professional architect and researcher, and was Chair of the EU COST Action TU1203, which focused on Crime Prevention through Urban Design and Planning (CP-UDP). The objective of this Action was to contribute to structuring existing knowledge and to developing innovative approaches on how to build more secure and safe cities. Umberto brings significant expertise in the practical application of crime and security research to real-world situations. Together with Professor Clara Cardia, in 2008 Umberto authored the practical handbook Safepolis. Together with USAL and DSP, Umberto is currently supporting the establishment of the International CP-UDP Practitioners Network (ICPN).
