The CCI project had its debut in Mexico when Dr Francesc Guillen, CCI Partner from the Department of Interior of Catalona (INT) delivered an in-depth presentation on the project.
It was held from 25th to 29th of March in the Business School of the Tecnológico de Monterrey, organised by the University of Security Sciences, with the collaboration of the State of Nuevo León, the Autonomous University of Nuevo León and the Tecnológico de Monterrey. It was focus on crime prevention and it tried to collect good practices from everywhere.
There were representatives among others from Chili, Argentina, Italy (Italian Forum for Urban Security) and the CCI Project. Francesc Guillén, from the Department of Interior of Catalonia, partner of the project, devoted his lecture to talk about the background idea of CCI, to lower the effects of crime and to make it sustainable. The different fields the project deals with were exposed (Community Policing, Predictive Policing, Crime Prevention through Urban Design and measuring Subjective Security).
It was stressed the variety of approaches (a quite balanced set of partners) within the Project and the need to produce useful strategies and toolkits that allow authorities and LEAs to prevent and reduce crime and to improve subjective security.
The public appreciated the wide scope of the project and transversal approach to crime and security.
